Description: Ammonites are an extinct form of mollusk that thrived in the seas during the time of the dinosaurs and are related to squid. Ammonites can range from 1mm to about 2 feet, the largest found was 1.8 metres. Ammonites lived all over the world in more shallow water and had a maximum depth of around 400 metres.
