Beschreibung
Origin: Kamas, Utah, USA
Description: This is one of my favourite stones. The red agatized coral is most often cut with cross cuts to reveal the cell structure bursting out from the center... It can be cut length-wise and also looks very articulated and detailed that way too, but not symmetrical.
This stone is incredibly difficult to get because it ahs all been surface picked at the site and the government wont allow people to dig there anymore. Therefore... it is in a way "exhausted".
It is fossilized horn coral.
Chemical Composition: SiO2
Grade: Semi Precious
Appearance: Translucent/ Opaque
Inclusions: They grey is calcite and wanders throughout the stone as it wishes. The cells within the grey may be agatized sometimes, but I'd call this an inclusion because it is softer than the red agatized areas.
Cost per Gram: $0.40
Size approximately 1 pc: 42mm x 28mm x 20mm
Weight approximately 1 pc: 72g
Rough is rough. We do our best to grade and describe pieces in the lot, but ultimately, they all differ.
