Origin: Mexico

Description: This is natural turquoise. That means no treatment of any kind has been done to it, i.e.: no stabilization. Most mines stabilize turquoise by soaking it in Opticon (a stabilizing compound). This makes it better for cutting as it reduces material loss.

Natural turquoise is very difficult to come by as most mines stabilize the material before it hits the distribution stream.

Inclusions: There aren't really any cracks, but the host rock is present on most of the chunks.
