Mined from: Ontario, Canada
Description: This unakite tetradecagon from Ontario, Canada has been cut and polished into a geometric fourteen-sided shape that gives the stone a clean, finished look. Unakite is easily recognized by its natural mix of green epidote, pink feldspar, and clear to gray quartz, which together create a mottled pattern with strong contrast. In this carved form, the flat faces and even shape make the color mix stand out in a more structured and decorative way than a standard tumble.
Unakite is not a single mineral but a metamorphically altered rock, usually formed when granite is changed by hydrothermal fluids and metamorphic processes. During that alteration, original minerals are partly replaced, especially by green epidote, while pink feldspar and quartz remain as major parts of the rock. The result is a tough, silica-rich ornamental stone that takes a good polish and has been used for carvings, beads, and decorative lapidary pieces for many years.
Unakite is often associated with balance, steady growth, and emotional grounding. Many people are drawn to it for the way it combines earthy green and warm pink tones, giving it a calm and stable feel. It is commonly chosen as a stone linked with renewal, perspective, and moving forward in a more centered way.
