Mined from: Huanggangliang mining area, Inner Mongolia, China
Description: This one of a kind Blueberry Fluorite specimen from Mongolia features a rich blanket of deep navy to indigo-blue fluorite crystals over a pale beige to grey quartz matrix. The surface has a clustered, grape-like texture, with rounded botryoidal mounds and tiny sparkling crystal faces that create a striking “blueberry” effect. The contrast between the saturated blue fluorite and the lighter host rock gives the piece strong depth, natural dimension, and excellent display appeal.
The Huanggangliang mining area of Inner Mongolia, China, is a locality known for unusual blue fluorite growths on quartz. Fluorite itself has been prized for centuries for its wide range of colors, cubic crystal structure, and use as a source of fluorine; its name comes from the Latin fluere, meaning “to flow,” referring to its historical use as a flux in metalworking. This variety is especially collectible because of its deep blue color and rounded crystal habit, which differs from the more familiar cubic fluorite forms.
Spiritually, Fluorite is often associated with clarity, focus, organization, and calm mental energy. Blue Fluorite in particular is commonly linked with communication, intuition, and peaceful expression, making it a popular stone for study spaces, meditation areas, and display collections. Its cool blue tones and textured formation give it a steady, grounding presence while still feeling bright and uplifting.
