The piece keeps its rough natural bone exterior along the top and sides, while the cut surface shows the heavier mineral replacement and preserved internal bone texture. Its flat base gives it a strong display shape with a more raw, natural look than a fully polished specimen.

The Morrison Formation is a a Late Jurassic rock unit famous for dinosaur fossils across the western United States. During fossilization, minerals moved through the porous bone, preserving the original structure while turning it into stone over millions of years.
