Description: Oyster is the common name for a variety of different salt water Bivalve Molluscs that live in marine or brackish waters. In some species, the valves are highly calcified, and many are somewhat irregular in shape. Many, but not all oysters are in the Ostreoidea family.
These beautifully preserved giant Oyster Fossils contain amazing detail and shape. Each Oyster Fossil still has both the top and the bottom of the specimen remaining and intact. Between the two shells is a layer of sedimentary Earth, which displays a wonderful etching of time.
