Description: Goethite is a mineral of the diaspore group, consisting of iron(III) oxide-hydroxide and has a wide range of formations and appearance. Goethite can be Black, brown, reddish brown, and in some cases a burnt yellow. Goethite is found in low-temperature environments such as sediment or soil. Goethite was named after the German and poet and polymath Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832).
