Origin: Sweet Home, Oregon, USA

Description: This rough Holly Blue Agate from Oregon features a soft blue to blue-grey chalcedony colour with natural rough edges, waxy surfaces, and portions of host rock still attached. The material may show cloudy zones, pale lavender-blue areas, grey banding, small fractures, and natural rind from the original nodule or seam. As rough agate, it is best suited for collectors, lapidary cutting, cabochons, display pieces, wire wrapping, or small polishing projects, depending on the shape and stability of each piece.

Holly Blue Agate is a well-known Oregon agate variety, historically associated with the Holly area in Clackamas County. It is valued for its calm blue colour, which is less common in agate compared with the reds, browns, and greys found in many other chalcedony deposits. Good Holly Blue material has long been sought after by lapidary artists for cabochons, jewelry stones, and polished display pieces.

Spiritually, blue agates are often associated with calm communication, patience, emotional balance, and steady thinking. Holly Blue Agate is commonly viewed as a soothing stone, often used by collectors and crystal users for peaceful energy, clear expression, and grounding without feeling heavy.
