Description: The name Turritella comes from the Latin word turritus meaning "turreted" or "towered" and the diminutive suffix -ella. Turritella is a genus of medium-sized sea-snails with an operculum, marine gastropod mollusks which is part of the Turritellidae family.
These free form twisty fossils remain on a partial matrix and reach up nicely to the sky. These Turittela Fossils' spirals have loosened during their fossilization. Which causes their appearance to differ from those of other fossilized specimens.
