Description: This one of a kind Vesuvianite mineral specimen features a dense cluster of black to very dark brown prismatic crystals with a strong glassy luster. The crystals are tightly intergrown, with broad flat faces, stepped growth, and clear lengthwise striations running along many of the larger crystals. Several crystals show blocky terminations and sharp edges, while smaller crystals fill in around the base and sides. The overall piece has a compact, solid form with good crystal definition and a dark, nearly metallic-looking appearance under direct light.

Vesuvianite, also known as idocrase, is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral that commonly forms in metamorphic environments, especially where limestone has been altered by heat and mineral-rich fluids. It was first described from material found near Mount Vesuvius in Italy, which is where the mineral gets its name. Vesuvianite occurs in a range of colors including green, brown, yellow, reddish brown, and nearly black.

Spiritually, Vesuvianite is commonly associated with grounding, confidence, personal direction, and clearing indecision. Dark Vesuvianite in particular is often connected with stability, focus, and staying practical when working through change or long-term goals.
