Description: This one of a kind fossil tooth specimen from South Carolina shows heavy dark mineralization, exposed enamel folds, broken root structure, and worn chewing surfaces. The glossy black enamel and reddish-brown fossilized dentin give the piece strong contrast, while the hollowed and fractured areas show where the original tooth structure has been naturally weathered and preserved over time.

Because South Carolina fossils are often recovered from river or coastal lag deposits, this specimen was likely reworked from older sediment before being found. That means the fossil may have been transported, worn, and redeposited rather than collected directly from a clean formation layer.

Spiritually, fossil teeth are often associated with endurance, survival, protection, and ancient strength. Collectors are drawn to pieces like this because they carry the raw evidence of a powerful Ice Age animal and the deep passage of time.
