Description

Mined from: Ganesh Himal region, Bagmati, Nepal

Description: This one of a kind chlorite quartz specimen from Ganesh Himal has a strong, upright clustered form with a dense spray of long, narrow crystals rising from a base of lighter quartz. The chlorite-rich coating or inclusion effect gives the upper growth a dark charcoal to nearly black look, while the smaller clear to pale points around the base add contrast and help define the structure. It has a sharp, crowded habit with a lot of movement, and the whole piece reads as a natural crystal spray rather than a single-point specimen.

Ganesh Himal is one of Nepal’s best known mineral regions for alpine quartz. These crystals form in open fissures within metamorphic rock, where hot mineral-rich fluids circulate through cracks and slowly build elongated quartz points. Chlorite is common in these Himalayan environments and can coat or fill the quartz during growth, creating the darker appearance seen on specimens like this. On this piece, that combination gives you both the dramatic dark upper crystal cluster and the lighter quartz growth underneath, which makes the specimen more visually layered and collector-friendly.

Metaphysically, chlorite quartz is often associated with grounding, clearing, and renewal. People are usually drawn to it when they want something that feels strong, focused, and restorative rather than soft or decorative. The darker color and tight crystal growth on this piece give it a more serious, concentrated presence.
