Description: Scolecite is a member of the zeolite group of minerals, which also includes apophyllite. Scolecite typically forms in slender, prismatic crystals that can be elongated and needle-like. Often, these crystals form impressively large radiating and intersecting clusters which are prized as specimens among collectors.

In addition to its characteristic bursts of delicate needles, scolecite is also commonly found in the form of massive fibrous growths. In this form, scolecite appears as a solid, cohesive lumps or blocks of material. While this form of scolecite lacks the distinct elongated crystal shapes that are typical of its prismatic form, these solid fibrous masses make for ideal carving material, and are commonly shaped into spheres. These spheres display a beautiful silky luster caused by light reflecting off the mineral fibers along the length of the shape.

Scolecite is primarily associated with the upper chakras, which are linked to higher consciousness, intuition, and spiritual growth. Scolecite is thought to stimulate the Third Eye Chakra, enhancing intuitive abilities, psychic vision, and inner wisdom. It helps in accessing deeper states of consciousness and spiritual insight. Scolecite is also used to open and activate the Crown Chakra. It is believed to facilitate a stronger connection to the divine, promote spiritual growth, and provide a sense of unity with the universe. It aids in meditation and the attainment of higher states of consciousness.
