Description: Skutterudite is a mineral that belongs to the class of arsenide minerals. Its chemical formula is (Co,Ni)As3, meaning it is composed of cobalt or nickel, and arsenic. The mineral has a metallic luster and a silver-white or grayish-white color.

Skutterudite is named after the town of Skutterud in Norway, where it was first discovered in the early 19th century. It is commonly found in hydrothermal veins associated with other minerals such as native silver, cobaltite, and chalcopyrite.

Skutterudite is of interest to scientists and engineers due to its unique thermoelectric properties. It has a high electrical conductivity and a low thermal conductivity, which makes it useful for converting heat into electricity. This property makes it potentially useful in thermoelectric generators for waste heat recovery in industrial processes, as well as in thermoelectric power generation from waste heat in automotive and other applications.

In addition to its thermoelectric properties, skutterudite has also been studied for its potential use as a catalyst in chemical reactions and for its magnetic properties. Researchers continue to explore its properties and potential applications in various fields of science and technology.

Skutterudite is a stone of transformation and inner harmony. It is helpful for resolving inner conflict and connects you closer to the universe. Skutterudite is a powerful grounding stone that will bring enlightenment to your life.

These pieces of Skutterudite are very solid stones that are a deep silver colour leaning closer to grey but, however; they still contain ans excellent sparkle. Some even have clusters of small quartz points running along their surfaces. Which makes them that much more beautiful and interesting.
