Description: Most people know of Afghan Lapis, this product is different. This lapis Lazuli is from the country of Chile. The blue is muddled and blotchy- like clouds throughout, where as Afghan comes in layers and clear defined lines of calcite.
Lapis lazuli itself is not a mineral, but rather a rock composed of several minerals. The main component of lapis lazuli is the mineral lazurite, which gives it its distinctive blue color. Additionally, lapis lazuli generally contains calcite, which appears as white-grey veining, as well as pyrite, which appears as metallic gold flakes.

Appearance: Opaque
Inclusions: Technically the grey calcite in the lapis is the inclusion, as the blue is the favourable area. as for cracks, there are some, and the calcite can be soft when cutting. All-round, it is a commercial grade lapidary material, used in the industry for years.
