Description: This is a marine bivalve mollusk from Texas. They are small and delicate. These oysters lived during the Cretaceous period and lived in shallow coastal waters. They fed on food particles that were filtered out from the ocean water. Ilymatogyra Oysters had snail-like coiled shells which had much more of a spiral than oysters we see today.
