Description: Argentina has since banned fossils from export, making this fossil pinecone nearly impossible to acquire, unless purchased from private collections. These pine cones come from an ancient species relative to the monkey puzzle tree as well as the Norfolk pine. The trees are part of the Araucaria genus, and are a current "living fossil".
