Description

Mined from: Pingwu Mine, Mount Xuebaoding, Sichuan Province, China

Description: This one of a kind Black Tourmaline with Aquamarine mineral specimen from China features a long, pale blue Aquamarine crystal resting across two thick black Tourmaline crystals. The Aquamarine has a flattened prismatic form with visible lengthwise striations, scattered dark inclusions, minor surface wear, and a partly terminated end. The black Tourmaline crystals have deeply grooved faces, solid blocky growth, and a dark natural lustre. Small amounts of pale matrix remain attached, adding to the specimen’s natural appearance.

Aquamarine is the blue to blue-green variety of beryl and gets its colour mainly from trace amounts of iron. Black Tourmaline, commonly known as schorl, is the most widespread member of the tourmaline group. Both minerals commonly form in granite pegmatites, where slow cooling allows large, well-developed crystals to grow together. China has produced notable Aquamarine and Tourmaline specimens, particularly from pegmatite deposits in Sichuan Province.

Spiritually, Aquamarine is commonly associated with calm thinking, communication, emotional balance, and confidence. Black Tourmaline is often connected with grounding, protection, stability, and the clearing of unwanted energy. Together, the two minerals are sometimes used as a balance between calm, clear thought and steady grounding.
