Description

Origin: Minas Gerais, Brazil

Description: This specimen-grade Fuchsite from Brazil features bright green to silvery-green mica-rich material with a natural shimmer and reflective, layered texture. Sold by weight, this material is best suited for mineral collections, display pieces, educational use, craft projects, and decorative stone work where its chrome-green colour and sparkling mica surface can be appreciated.

Fuchsite is a chromium-rich variety of muscovite mica, known for its vivid green colour and pearly to silvery lustre. This Brazilian material has an attractive natural sparkle, but its soft, flaky mica structure means it is not ideal for traditional lapidary work. It is generally too crumbly for slabbing, tumbling, or cutting into cabochons.

Larger, more stable pieces may be carefully shaped or polished by hand, but this material should be handled gently and worked with realistic expectations. It is better suited as a specimen or decorative mica material than as a standard cabbing, tumbling, or precision-cutting stone.

Rough is rough. We do our best to grade and describe pieces in the lot, but ultimately, they all differ.
