Description

Mined from: Brazil

Description: Sodalite is a deep blue tectosilicate mineral known for its rich royal-blue color often contrasted by white veins of calcite. It forms in igneous rocks, particularly in silica-poor environments such as nepheline syenites, where sodium, aluminum, silicon, and chlorine combine during crystallization. Brazil is a major source of sodalite and produces material with strong blue coloration that is widely used for decorative stone and lapidary work.

A polished face highlights the stone’s natural color patterns and contrasts, revealing the bold blue tones and white mineral inclusions that give sodalite its distinctive appearance. Due to its striking color and ability to take a good polish, sodalite is commonly used for carvings, display pieces, and ornamental stone objects.

Metaphysically, sodalite is often associated with logic, insight, and mental clarity. Many practitioners believe it supports rational thinking, communication, and the ability to process complex ideas while encouraging calm and balanced expression.
