Rubble Rock and Gem is hiring new storefront staff! If you love rocks and sharing that passion with others- join our team. The job includes scrubbing the floor with a toothbrush, lifting 600lbs, and getting my complex coffee orders yet still being yelled at even when you fulfill it properly. Just kidding!

Overall, the storefront position is a retail position. Your job is to interact with customers and facilitate transactions. Second is to keep the storefront maintained- that means dusting shelves, restocking inventory, sorting rocks, and all duties under the sun that are relative to the position.You’ll also have to assist the manager with various odds and ends tasks as well as go through your daily and monthly routine checklists.

You get to wear what you want, be who you are and surround yourself with rocks. You do also have to work though. As a boss, I ask for reasonable performance levels… don’t be on your cell phone all day, don’t be sitting in a chair all day, show up on time, wear clean clothes, don’t swear at the customers, be a normal person, etc. Just show up, put in an effort and I will help you along :)

You will learn a lot about rocks working here as we are one of the biggest rock shops in Canada. I also ask that you have an elementary interest in rocks if you apply. Over half the applicants don’t know what an amethyst is… and if you don’t either this job isn’t for you.

The job can be 1 day a week or 5 days a week. (I will keep hiring until I have enough commitment from people to fill the schedule).

Last but not least… I’m looking for someone bubbly and good with people. You must be kind, and adept at resolving and preventing conflict. I want a people person who is also independent and intelligent. I want someone who can listen to my instructions and then go fulfill a task without my supervision or constant need for intervention. Come with a positive attitude and an ability to create an upbeat atmosphere in the store.
