Description

Mined from: Navajún mine, La Rioja, Spain

Description: Pyrite, often referred to as "fool's gold" due to its metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue, is a sulfide mineral composed of iron and sulfur. Pyrite crystallizes in the isometric system, which can lead to the formation of well-defined cubic crystals with sharp edges and smooth faces.

The Navajún mine in La Rioja, Spain, is one of the most notable locations for high-quality pyrite cubes. This mine produces some of the most pristine and geometrically perfect pyrite cubes in the world. The pyrite cubes in Navajún form in a sedimentary rock matrix of marlstone, which is a type of mudstone rich in calcium carbonate. These specimens are particularly famous for their perfect cubic shapes and robust size.

The lot for sale here features chained pyrite cubes, where multiple cubes intergrow as a "chain". We also have single cube specimens on matrix from the same mine! You can view them at this link: https://rubblerockandgem.com › products › cubic-pyrite-on-matrix-mineral

Pyrite is most commonly associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra, located in the upper abdomen. This chakra is the center of personal power, confidence, and energy. Pyrite’s association with the Solar Plexus Chakra helps in enhancing one’s willpower, motivation, and ability to manifest goals and desires. Pyrite is also believed to be a powerful protective stone, shielding the user from negative energy and environmental pollutants. It is thought to create a defensive shield against harm and danger.
