Description
Origin: Burns, Oregon, USA
Description: Green and Blue obsidian is a rare variety of naturally occurring volcanic glass, far less common than standard black obsidian. Its green coloration forms due to iron and trace element inclusions, such as Fe²⁺, Fe³⁺, and magnesium, which create a greenish tint, or from tiny gas bubbles and microscopic mineral inclusions that scatter light. With its rich, glassy luster, green obsidian makes for striking cabochons, beads, and carvings, and when polished properly, it achieves a mirror-like finish that enhances its vibrant hues.
Beyond its visual appeal, green obsidian is believed to support emotional healing, encouraging personal growth, truth-seeking, and the release of negative energy. Often linked to the heart chakra, it is thought to enhance compassion, protection, and spiritual clarity.
