Description: This one-of-a-kind Heteromorph Ammonite fossil statement specimen from Morocco features several large tan to ochre fossil shells mounted across a pale stone matrix. The piece has strong open spiral forms on both sides, with hooked, uncoiled shell sections, raised ribbing, small pointed tubercles, and a smaller ammonite set near the upper center. It is a large display specimen with a balanced left-to-right layout, built more like a shelf or floor statement piece than a small cabinet fossil.

Heteromorph ammonites were extinct marine cephalopods related to more typical coiled ammonites, but instead of forming a tight flat spiral, their shells grew in looser hooks, open coils, curved shafts, and irregular forms. Morocco is well known for Cretaceous ammonites, especially from the Atlas and Tafilalt fossil regions, where marine sediments preserved a wide range of ammonite forms. Scientific work on Moroccan ammonite faunas places many of these fossils in Cretaceous marine deposits, including well-documented ammonite-bearing formations in the High Atlas, Middle Atlas, and northern Morocco.
