Description: Purpurite is a rare mineral that is typically a deep purple to reddish-brown color. The name "purpurite" comes from the Latin word "purpura," which means "purple," referring to its distinctive color. Purpurite is not very common and is found in small quantities. It forms in the oxidation zones of manganese deposits.

Purpurite has an almost metallic luster, with a flashy iridescence when light hits it at the right angles. This shiny, reflective quality, combined with Its deep purple hues make it stand out among other minerals. 

Purpurite is often associated with the higher chakras, particularly the crown chakra (Sahasrara) and the third eye chakra (Ajna). It’s believed that purpurite can help enhance spiritual awareness and promote a deeper connection to higher realms of consciousness. Its rich purple color is often linked with the crown chakra’s association with spiritual insight and enlightenment. The deep purple of purpurite is also thought to support the third eye chakra by enhancing intuitive abilities, mental clarity, and inner vision.
