描述
Mined from: Errachidia Province, High Atlas Mountains, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
Description: This one of a kind Moroccan specimen is densely packed with mineral growth, forming a thick, textured plate covered in interlocking crystals. Cream to pale beige feldspar dominates the structure, showing sharp, blocky forms and layered growth patterns. Between these sit numerous small quartz crystals, ranging from translucent grey to slightly smoky, adding depth and contrast across the surface. Rising throughout the piece are short, well-formed tourmaline crystals in dark brown to nearly black tones, many standing upright and evenly distributed rather than clustered in one area.
The specimen reflects a classic pegmatite formation sequence, where large feldspar crystals formed first, followed by quartz infilling remaining space, and finally tourmaline crystallizing from boron-rich fluids in the late stages. Compared to more open specimens, this piece is tighter and more compact, with a high density of smaller crystal faces that give it a rugged, almost granular texture. The even spread of tourmaline across the matrix makes it visually balanced from multiple angles, with no single dominant focal point but strong overall coverage.
Tourmaline is often associated with protection and grounding, while quartz is thought to amplify energy and feldspar is linked to stability and structure. Together, this combination is commonly appreciated as a piece that represents balance, support, and clarity in a more subtle, understated way.
