Mined from: Ametista do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Description: This one of a kind amethyst butterfly geode mounted on a stand from Brazil features two matched amethyst geode halves set in a butterfly shape on a black metal stand. The interior shows pale lavender to medium purple crystal growth, with deeper purple toward the inner pockets and lighter quartz around the outer edges. Each wing has a natural grey-green outer rind and a solid, natural shape rather than a perfectly symmetrical cut. The crystal points are medium to large in places, giving the piece good texture and a strong reflective look when light hits the faces.
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and is one of the best-known crystal minerals in the world. Brazil is a major source of amethyst geodes, especially material formed inside volcanic basalt cavities. Over time, mineral-rich fluids filled those hollow spaces and grew quartz and amethyst crystals inward from the walls. Pieces like this are often cut, matched, and mounted to show the natural crystal interior in a clean display format.
Spiritually, amethyst is commonly associated with calm, clarity, balance, and protection. Many people use it in meditation rooms, bedrooms, entryways, or work spaces because it is thought to support a steady mind and a more relaxed atmosphere. The butterfly form also gives the piece a connection to change, growth, and transition.
