Mined from: Cabiche, Quipama Municipality, Western Boyaca Province, Boyaca Department, Colombia
Description: This one of a kind Mango Quartz with Halloysite mineral specimen from Colombia features a long, arched formation of clear to pale champagne quartz crystals growing across a rich ochre-brown matrix. The specimen is covered in fine, needle-like quartz sprays, with larger prismatic points extending outward from the surface and soft mango-yellow Halloysite inclusions visible near several crystal tips. The warm earthy base creates strong natural contrast against the bright, glassy quartz, giving the piece a striking sculptural display quality.
Mango Quartz is a Colombian variety of included quartz, named for the golden-yellow to orange tones created by Halloysite, a hydrated aluminum silicate clay mineral. This material is best known from the Cabiche area near Quipama in Boyaca Department, Colombia, and is often associated with the broader Muzo emerald mining district. Its combination of transparent quartz and warm internal Halloysite inclusions has made it a distinctive modern collector material.
Spiritually, Mango Quartz is often associated with joy, warmth, creativity, and energetic renewal. Quartz is commonly regarded as an amplifying stone, while the sunny Halloysite coloration is often connected with optimism, motivation, and personal confidence.
