Beschreibung

Mined from: Huanggang Mine, Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China

Description: This one of a kind morion quartz specimen has a dramatic cluster of dark smoky to nearly black quartz crystals, with several sharp prismatic points growing together across the matrix. The surfaces show a natural sparkle from fine druzy coatings, with lighter mineral deposits scattered between the crystals. The contrast between the glossy black quartz and pale secondary growth gives the piece a rugged, high-impact look without needing polish or carving.

Morion is the darkest variety of smoky quartz, with its colour caused by natural radiation interacting with aluminum impurities in the quartz structure over long periods of geological time. Specimens from Inner Mongolia, especially material likely from the Huanggang mining district, are known for bold crystal clusters and attractive mineral associations. Because the exact mine is not confirmed by a label, Huanggang Mine is the most likely origin rather than a guaranteed attribution.

Spiritually, morion quartz is often associated with grounding, protection, and emotional steadiness. Collectors are drawn to it for its heavy, anchored presence and its reputation as a stone for focus, energetic shielding, and clearing mental clutter.
