Mined from: Minas Gerais, Brazil
Description: This one of a kind Vivianite specimen from Brazil features dramatic dark blue-green to nearly black Vivianite blades partially encased in a rich, iron-stained brown matrix. The crystals show a striking fan-like formation with long, glassy, striated blades that reveal flashes of deep teal, green, and blue when viewed in the light. The earthy matrix adds strong contrast, giving the specimen a rugged natural presentation with excellent depth and visual character.
This piece stands out for its large bladed Vivianite crystal sprays, glossy luster, and natural iron-rich coating across the host rock. The exposed crystal sections display beautiful translucency along the edges, while the darker portions create a bold, sculptural look ideal for display or collection.
Vivianite is named after the British mineralogist John Henry Vivian, who researched this mineral in the early 19th century. It is commonly associated with emotional healing, heart-centered awareness, compassion, renewal, patience, and gentle transformation.
