Mined from: Jebel Bou-Agrao / Tamazeght Complex area, Amersid, Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco.
Description: This one of a kind Black Amphibole mineral specimen from Morocco features a rugged cluster of dark greenish-black to black prismatic crystals with strong vertical striations and a rough, fibrous-looking surface texture. Several larger crystal sections rise from a dense base of smaller broken and intergrown crystals, giving the piece a bold, natural structure. Brown iron-stained areas, pale mineral residue, and small contrasting patches across the surface add to its raw field-collected look without taking away from the dark amphibole form.
Amphibole is not a single mineral species, but a large mineral group that includes varieties such as hornblende, actinolite, tremolite, riebeckite, and others. These minerals are usually found in igneous and metamorphic rocks, and they commonly form dark prismatic, bladed, or fibrous crystals. In Morocco, amphibole-group minerals are reported from several regions, including localities in the Drâa-Tafilalet Region and Midelt Province.
Spiritually, Black Amphibole is often associated with grounding, protection, strength, and steady focus. Its dark colour and rough, structured crystal habit make it a good fit for collectors who like stones tied to stability, resilience, and practical energy work. It is often viewed as a stone for staying centered, clearing mental clutter, and keeping a firm footing during stressful situations.
