Description: This Black Onyx Oval Tumble from Brazil is carved into a smooth, symmetrical oval shape, each piece with a deep, inky black lustre. The tumble finish offers a satisfying weight and smooth surface, perfect for carrying in your pocket or display.

Black onyx is a variety of chalcedony, a cryptocrystalline form of quartz (SiO₂), formed through the slow deposition of silica-rich fluids in cavities within volcanic rock. Brazilian onyx is especially prized for its fine-grained structure, making it ideal for carving and polishing. Black onyx is dyed chalcedony: the chalcedony is dyed to give its even black colour. These oval tumbles bring out the density and elegance of the stone, offering both beauty and durability in a compact form.
