Description: Red Dop Wax is used by lapidaries to temporarily attach stones to dop sticks during cutting, grinding, and polishing. This variety has a high melting point of 150°F (65°C), making it useful for larger stones or situations where extra holding strength and heat resistance are needed. The firm bond helps keep stones stable while working on faceting machines, cabbing units, and other lapidary equipment.

If you need to remove a stone from a dop stick, place the dop and stone in the freezer for about 10–15 minutes. The cold temperature makes the dop wax become more brittle, allowing the stone to pop off cleanly with gentle pressure instead of stretching or smearing. This method is especially useful when working with higher melting point waxes that can otherwise be difficult to release.
