Mined from: Xianghuapu Mine (Maiwan Mine), Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field, Linwu County, Chenzhou, Hunan Province, China
Description: This one-of-a-kind Fluorite specimen features a striking cluster of large, intergrown cubic crystals in soft pale mint-green to grey-green tones. The crystals range from translucent to semi-transparent, with broad frosted faces, subtle stepped growth, and modified or beveled edges that create an icy, sculptural appearance. Smaller overlapping cubes surround the larger crystals, while darker matrix material is visible along portions of the underside, adding contrast and emphasizing the specimen’s natural formation.
Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral, CaF₂, named from the Latin fluere, meaning “to flow,” because it was historically used as a flux in metal smelting. It occurs worldwide in hydrothermal veins and mineralized deposits and is especially prized by collectors for its exceptional range of colours and well-formed cubic and octahedral crystals. China has become one of the world’s most important sources of collectible fluorite, with the mineral districts of Hunan Province particularly famous for producing large, pale green and highly aesthetic crystal clusters.
In metaphysical traditions, green fluorite is associated with mental clarity, concentration, renewal, emotional balance, and energetic cleansing. It is often used during meditation or study to encourage organized thinking, reduce mental clutter, and promote a calmer, more focused state of mind. Green fluorite is also commonly associated with the Heart Chakra, where it is believed to support emotional harmony, personal growth, and the release of stagnant energy.
