Mined from: Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province, Sulawesi Island, Indonesia
Description: This one of a kind Grape Agate mineral specimen from Indonesia has an elongated, branching form covered in dense botryoidal growths. Its colour shifts from muted green and blue-grey on one end to smoky lavender, dusty purple, and soft pink across the other, with scattered cream and tan mineral deposits. The rounded formations range from fine bead-like clusters to larger, irregular nodules, while natural openings and overhanging sections give the specimen plenty of depth and texture.
Grape Agate is the trade name used for botryoidal aggregates of amethystine quartz or chalcedony from the Mamuju region of West Sulawesi, Indonesia. Despite the name, the material is not considered a true banded agate. Its rounded formations are made from fine, radially grown quartz crystals, which produce the familiar grape-like surface. Purple is the best-known colour, while green specimens and mixed purple-green examples are less common.
Spiritually, Grape Agate is commonly associated with calm thinking, emotional balance, intuition, and steady personal growth. Purple material is often linked with reflection and spiritual awareness, while green areas are associated with stability and renewal. These are traditional beliefs rather than scientifically established properties.
