Description: Orpiment is a deep-coloured, orange-yellow arsenic sulfide Mineral. Orpiment takes its name from the Latin words aurum and pigmentum which mean gold-pigment due to it's deep yellow colour. Orpiment has a very striking appearance, however; it is very toxic and was used by the Roman Empire to poison arrow heads. It has also been discovered in decorations of Tuatankhamun's tomb in Egypt as well as the walls of the Taj Mahal in India.
Orpiment resonates with one's solar plexus chakra, and can heighten one’s personal will. Your “will” will become activated and aligned with your emotional body. This will help you become more in touch with your personal desires. Orpiment stimulates growth and provides insights into that which needs to be done. Orpiment can also stimulate the intellect and is an excellent crystal to use when engaged in investigative analysis or examinations.
One should be extremely cautious when handling or working with Orpiment. This mineral can leave toxic traces of arsenic on your hand if not washed, which can be poisonous if ingested or rubbed into the eyes. Orpiment is wonderful to meditate with,  just be extremely safe about it. As soon as you finish your meditation session, head over to the sink and immediately wash your hands.
