Description: Pink calcite is a captivating variety of calcite renowned for its delicate pastel hues and distinctive banding patterns of rose pink and pale yellow.

The color of the pink bands is attributed to the presence of manganese oxide minerals. Manganese can substitute for calcium within the calcite crystal lattice, leading to the development of pink  hues. The yellow bands in can be attributed to the presence of iron oxide minerals, particularly hematite. The iron oxide impurities may have been introduced into the calcite during its crystallization process, resulting in the formation of yellow bands.

Like many manganese-bearing calcites, some of the manganese rich pink bands of this calcite variety can fluoresce a bright red color when exposed to UV light. The intensity of the fluorescence varies depending on the ratio of manganese to iron in the calcite. Areas with little to no iron and high concentrations of manganese will have the brightest fluorescence, while iron-rich areas will fluoresce less brightly or not at all - around 1 in 5 pieces will have clearly visible fluorescence.

The pink bands in this calcite resonate with the energy of the heart chakra, which is associated with love, compassion, and emotional healing. Pink is often considered the color of universal love and empathy, making pink calcite a potentially powerful stone for opening and balancing the heart chakra, promoting self-love, forgiveness, and harmonious relationships. The yellow bands in this calcite variety are associated with the solar plexus chakra, which governs personal power, confidence, and self-esteem. Yellow is often linked to the energy of the sun and vitality, making it a potential ally for strengthening the solar plexus chakra, boosting self-confidence, and fostering a sense of empowerment and purpose.
