Description
Mined from: Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan
Description: This one of a kind Brookite on Quartz specimen from Balochistan, Pakistan features reddish-brown to dark bronze Brookite crystals set across a white to clear Quartz cluster. The Brookite shows flat, bladed crystal growth with a strong glassy to metallic shine, including one larger tabular crystal and several thinner spear-like blades crossing over the surface. The Quartz base is mostly pale and translucent, with small points and clustered terminations visible around the Brookite. Iron staining and natural matrix residue add some rusty brown colour, giving the piece a raw, uncleaned field specimen look while keeping the main crystal structure easy to see.
Brookite is one of the three main natural forms of titanium dioxide, along with Rutile and Anatase. It is less common than Quartz and is often collected for its thin bladed crystal habit and metallic to submetallic shine. Balochistan, Pakistan is known for producing attractive Brookite specimens, especially when the Brookite forms on Quartz or Alpine-type matrix. These pieces are usually appreciated by mineral collectors because Brookite has a more unusual look than many common display minerals.
Spiritually, Brookite is often associated with focus, direction, and clearing scattered energy, while Quartz is commonly linked with clarity, amplification, and steady energy. Together, this pairing is often seen as a stone combination for mental sharpness, organization, and staying on task. Even without the metaphysical side, it is a strong collector piece because of the contrast between the flat metallic Brookite and the sharper Quartz crystals.
