Description

Locality: Brazil

Description: Serpentine isn't a single mineral, it’s an entire group of hydrated magnesium phyllosilicates. Serpentine forms primarily in environments rich in ultramafic rocks, particularly in tectonic settings where oceanic crust is subducted or obducted onto continental landmasses. It results from serpentinization, a chemical reaction where peridotite or pyroxene-rich rocks interact with water, altering olivine and pyroxene into serpentine.

Chemical Composition: (Mg,Fe)₃Si₂O₅(OH)₄

Quantity: 1pc

We do our best to buy quality products- although not every rock is the same. If you choose to purchase the "staff pick option", we will select the best of the batch for you. Otherwise, it will be at random from the larger batch we have in stock.
