Description
Mined from: Morrison Formation, Utah, U.S.A.
Era: Mesozoic
Geological Age: 155–148 mya
Description: This one of a kind dinosaur bone fragment from Utah has a dark polished surface with subtle cellular bone texture visible across the face. The outer edges remain rough and natural, showing the porous internal structure of fossilized bone. The colouring is mostly deep brown to nearly black, with lighter grey-brown matrix along the raw sides.
The Morrison Formation is a Late Jurassic rock unit famous for producing sauropods and other dinosaurs. Over millions of years, groundwater carried minerals into the bone, filling the tiny internal spaces and turning the original bone into stone while keeping much of its cellular structure visible.
Spiritually, dinosaur bone is often associated with deep time, resilience, grounding, and ancient strength. People are drawn to it as a fossil that carries the feeling of endurance, survival, and connection to the prehistoric earth.
