Description: This one of a kind Brookite on Quartz mineral specimen from Balochistan, Pakistan features sharp, metallic brown to reddish-brown Brookite blades sitting across a base of clear to smoky-grey Quartz crystals. The Brookite shows thin tabular crystals with a strong reflective surface, some appearing almost coppery in the light. The Quartz underneath has pointed terminations, pale grey clarity, and a natural iron-stained matrix that gives the piece a rugged field-collected look. It is a busy specimen with plenty of crystal activity, good contrast, and a nice mix of flat Brookite blades against harder Quartz points.

Brookite is one of the three main natural forms of titanium dioxide, along with Rutile and Anatase. It is less common than Quartz and is often collected for its thin bladed crystal habit and metallic to submetallic shine. Balochistan, Pakistan is known for producing attractive Brookite specimens, especially when the Brookite forms on Quartz or Alpine-type matrix. These pieces are usually appreciated by mineral collectors because Brookite has a more unusual look than many common display minerals.
