Description: This Blue Barite comes from a mine in Cavnic, Romania. It is an ancient and historic mining town that was discovered in 1336. The mine produced all kinds of different minerals like lead and zinc as well as small quantities of gold, silver, and barium until it was closed 27 years ago. The Barite that was pulled from the mine is some of the best in the world for its colour, lustre, and size, making this a very rare and special piece.
