Description: This fossil plaque from Morocco features a mix of preserved marine life, including crinoid material, orthoceras, and ammonite forms set into a polished stone surface. The plaque shows strong contrast between the darker limestone matrix and the lighter fossil sections, making the different shapes easy to pick out. Straight orthoceras shells, spiral ammonite sections, and crinoid fragments give the piece a layered, natural pattern that works well as both a display specimen and a decorative fossil piece.

These plaques are cut from fossil-rich limestone deposits in Morocco, especially around the Erfoud area, where ancient marine sediments preserved a wide range of invertebrate life. Over time, the original shell and skeletal materials were mineralized or infilled with calcite, allowing the fossils to remain clearly visible when the rock is cut and polished. Pieces like this are popular because they show several kinds of prehistoric marine organisms together in one slab, giving a broader look at ancient seafloor life.
