Description

Mined from: Morocco

Description: This one of a kind Prehnite mineral specimen from Morocco features a richly textured formation covered in pale green to grey-green crystal growths. The surface is densely coated with small rounded, botryoidal, and stubby crystalline Prehnite formations, creating a rugged, coral-like appearance with natural cavities and shadowed pockets throughout the piece. Its soft sage colouring, frosted luster, and complex clustered structure give it a distinctive organic look, making it an eye-catching display specimen for collectors of Moroccan minerals.

Prehnite is a calcium aluminium silicate mineral first described in the 18th century and is often considered one of the first minerals to be named after a person, Dutch mineralogist Colonel Hendrik von Prehn. It commonly forms in cavities, veins, and altered volcanic rocks, often alongside minerals such as epidote, calcite, quartz, and zeolites. Moroccan Prehnite specimens are appreciated for their earthy green tones and unusual clustered habits, ranging from smooth botryoidal masses to granular and crystalline coatings.

Spiritually, Prehnite is often associated with calm, emotional healing, intuition, and heart-centered energy. It is sometimes called a stone of gentle renewal, believed by crystal enthusiasts to support peace, patience, and a deeper connection to nature. The soft green colouring and natural cavernous texture of this specimen give it a soothing presence, making it well suited for a crystal shelf, meditation space, mineral display, or natural décor arrangement.
