Description: Fossilized Corals are a unique class of gemstones they are actually marine animals that have had their skeletons fossilized and preserved. Fossilized coral is a natural gemstone that is created when prehistoric coral is gradually replaced with agate. The proper name for this process is called "agatized coral" or "agatized fossil coral." Fossilization is a slow process that can take up to 20 million years to occur.
Agate, has a silicon dioxide composition of SiO2 and is a variety of naturally occurring chalcedony--or microcrystalline quartz- so technically it is no longer a true coral.
According to metaphysical beliefs, fossil coral is a grounding stone good for bringing about change. Coral has energies that facilitate healing on multiple levels, while Agate is thought to be able to help heal pancreatic disorders and improve blood and air circulation. Fossil coral is used for healing eye, skin and stomach illnesses.
Our cut base coral fossils are stunning and can be placed explicitly in various locations throughout your home. They are a beautiful soft grey spattered with darker grey spot throughout it surface.
