Mined from: Minas Girais, Brazil
Description: This one of a kind Cat’s-Eye Tourmaline mineral specimen from Brazil features a dense growth of dark green to black Tourmaline crystals mixed with white Albite feldspar and minor Quartz. The Tourmaline forms thick, heavily striated prismatic crystals across the specimen, with a mix of glossy black surfaces, olive-green sections, broken terminations, and rounded crystal masses. White Albite fills many of the gaps between the Tourmaline crystals, giving the piece strong natural contrast and showing the pegmatite matrix in which the specimen formed.
Cat’s-eye Tourmaline gets its name from the narrow reflective band that may appear when suitable fibrous or tube-like inclusions are viewed under a direct light. Tourmaline is a complex borosilicate mineral group that occurs in many colours and compositions. Dark green and black Tourmaline commonly forms in granitic pegmatites alongside Albite, Quartz, mica, and other minerals. Brazil has produced Tourmaline for generations and remains one of the best-known sources of both collector specimens and gem material.
Spiritually, dark Tourmaline is commonly associated with grounding, protection, stability, and clearing unwanted energy. Green Tourmaline is often linked with growth, balance, and emotional steadiness. Albite is associated with mental clarity and new perspectives, while Quartz is traditionally viewed as an amplifier of intention and energy. These associations are cultural and spiritual beliefs rather than scientifically proven properties.
