Morocco is one of the world’s most significant producers of high-quality selenite, often yielding material with strong chatoyancy and soft internal glow.

Gypsum minerals form when sulfate-rich water evaporates in sedimentary basins, leaving behind layered crystalline deposits. With a Mohs hardness of around 2, selenite is very soft and should be handled with care.
