Mined from: Mibladen Mining District, Morocco
Description: This one of a kind vanadinite specimen from the Mibladen Mining District features a deep, dark Hexagonal-bipyramidal crystal formations, coating an ashy matrix. They spread to the edges, forming tight clusters but still displaying clear, individual subjects across the landscape, that iconic, clear-cut silhouette of each growth against a rich drusy. Though it appears a mauve, almost plum purple at mid-distance, upon closer inspection, this specimen's true colors almost seem to glow from the surface to meet the eye. Classic oranges, golds, yellows, bright browns and wine-reds, characteristics of prime Vanadinite, the result of the mineral's high vanadium content.
Originally discovered in Mexico in 1801, Vanadinite an uncommon, and curious mineral. It contains the previously undiscovered element, Vanadium, and is classified as a secondary mineral, occurring only as the result of chemical alterations to pre-existing materials, primarily the oxidation of lead rich minerals such as galena, or barite.
Vanadinite is sometimes called the "caffeine crystal" used to boost physical energy, mental focus, and creativity, often acting as a grounding tool for manifesting ideas into reality. It connects deeply with the root and sacral chakras, aiding in discipline, overcoming procrastination, and providing endurance for long projects.
