描述

Mined from: Bou Nahas Mine in the Oumjrane mining district, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

Description: This one of a kind Malachite mineral specimen from Morocco features thick clusters of dark green to brighter emerald-green crystal growth across a heavy brown iron-rich matrix. The Malachite forms broad bladed, fan-shaped and layered aggregates with finely textured surfaces and a dull to silky lustre. Several large formations project outward from the matrix, giving the specimen a solid, architectural shape. The darker matrix provides clear contrast with the green copper mineral, while a few small pale crystalline patches remain visible between the larger Malachite formations.

Malachite is a secondary copper carbonate mineral that develops in the oxidized portions of copper deposits. Its name comes from an ancient Greek word referring to the green colour of mallow leaves. It has been used for thousands of years as a copper ore, decorative stone and green pigment. Its chemical composition is Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂, and it belongs to the carbonate mineral family.

Spiritually, Malachite is commonly associated with protection, personal growth, confidence and emotional balance. Its strong green colour is often linked with the heart chakra and themes of change or renewal. These are traditional metaphysical associations rather than scientifically proven effects.
